The History of Kerrville
Kerrville, Tennessee is a community rich in history, dating back to the early 1800s when the land was first settled following the establishment of Shelby County. The area grew around agriculture, railroads, and close-knit community life, becoming an important local hub in West Tennessee.
In the mid-1800s, Dr. Andrew Hart Kerr played a significant role in the development of the area, eventually giving Kerrville its name. The arrival of the railroad in the 1870s helped shape the community, connecting residents and supporting growth through trade and travel.
Over time, Kerrville became known for its schools, churches, and strong sense of community. While much has changed, the area still reflects its historic roots through preserved landmarks and continued local traditions.

Today, The Chapel at Kerrville carries that legacy forward—offering a place where meaningful moments are celebrated in a setting connected to generations of history.
